This listing is for a PDH Professional Percussion 14x5.5” Aluminum Snare Drum in Purple Dazzle Finish, that’s brand new and without the slightest flaw.
This drum is unquestionably one of the best aluminum snare drums we’ve ever encountered; and here’s why…
This drum features a seamless, 1.5mm aluminum shell that projects the most dynamic, dry tone in aluminum shell drums. It’s a stand-out because of its heat treated finish that’s baked on to the shell surface, while the beautiful cast lugs provide tuning depth and precise note qualities. The PDH stamped hoops are stick-saver 3.0mm hoops, and add to the ease of precise tuning, and are fully capable of maintaining precise tone under heavy playing conditions.
The snare’s throw-off and butt side are both cast chrome covered steel, and also have the PDH monicker stamped in to the cast. All lugs and hardware on this drum are fully insulated from metal to metal contact with rubber gaskets, providing plenty of voice and resonance to the drum. In addition, the vent side has an interesting barred vent providing additional beauty and class.
In our opinion, this drum is as good as (if not much better) than any aluminum snare drum we’ve heard or seen on the market at any and all prices, from all brands.
You cannot go wrong on this drum. It’s built for a lifetime of playing and its tone is second to none…
