This listing is for a 1981 Ludwig 14x5” Acrolite Snare Drum that’s in VERY GOOD condition with everything working flawlessly. The drum includes a brand new Attack resonant side snare head, and a new set of Pearl 20-Strand snare wires.
It does have the occasional tiny (and we mean tiny) flaw as pointed out in the pictures, but even then, not many at all. Very hard to see.
The Ludwig Acrolite snare drum is a classic snare known for its dry, bright tone and responsive feel. It's often described as having a "cracking" sound and is versatile enough for various musical genres. The Acrolite's popularity stems from its combination of a seamless, brushed aluminum shell, classic hardware, and a reputation for being a great value drum.
Made from a seamless, brushed aluminum shell, typically 1.6mm thick. This shell construction contributes to the snare's dry, bright tone. Its dry, bright tone is a signature sound of the Ludwig brand.
This snare is extremely responsive and easy to play, regardless of playing style. The Acrolite's versatility allows it to be used in a wide range of musical genres.
