This listing is for a Ludwig 14x5” Acrolite Snare Drum that’s in absolutely stellar condition.

The Ludwig Acrolite Classic snare may have begun as a starter drum, but since its introduction in the early 1960s, its lively, distinctive tone has become legendary. Great for any playing situation, this lightweight snare's seamless, beaded, brushed-aluminum shell yields a penetrating, dry-sounding crack with a resonance and tone that match more expensive models. Fitted with Ludwig's P85 Classic strainer, the Acrolite is super responsive, regardless of how you hit it. Adorned with Ludwig's iconic Blue/Olive badge, the Ludwig Acrolite Classic is a champion of a snare drum!

The Ludwig legacy

Since 1909, Ludwig drums have had one of the proudest legacies in percussion and are a favorite of drummers worldwide for their warm, punchy sound. The world has heard them under the sticks of Cream's Ginger Baker, keeping the pulse behind Queen at Live Aid, and laying down the monstrous beat of Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks." But their biggest break came when Ringo Starr proudly played them on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, making Ludwig a household name for aspiring and superstar drummers alike.
