This listing is for a Slingerland VINTAGE 1970's Slingerland 5x14 No. 140 8-Lug Student Model Ribbed Aluminum Snare Drum that’s in EXCELLENT condition, and works perfectly. The drum has had a replacement strainer system added to the drum (making it “Custom”), in addition to a replacement wing-nut to tighten and loosen the drum muffler (replacing the knob), but no additional holes have been added to the shell.
The drum comes well equipped with a new Evan’s Power Center Snare Batter Head, new German made hi tensiled snare wires, and a new Evan’s 300 Snare side head.
This was Slingerland’s answer to the Ludwig Acrolite, and an incredible response it is, and was! This is that classic dry sound of aluminum. And Over all in excellent condition.
